Champers Review

Chiryl Newman's snazzy seaside restaurant is in an old Bajan home just off the main road in Rockley. Luncheon guests—about 75% local businesspeople—enjoy repasts such as char-grilled beef salad, Champers fish pie, or grilled barracuda. Dinner guests swoon over dishes such as the roasted rack of lamb with spring vegetables and mint-infused jus or the sautéed sea scallops with stir-fried vegetables and noodles with red Thai curry sauce. The portions are hearty and the food is well seasoned with Caribbean flavors, "just the way the locals like it," says Newman. The cliff-top setting overlooking the eastern end of Accra Beach offers diners a panoramic view of the sea and a relaxing atmosphere for daytime dining. Nearly all the artwork gracing the walls is by Barbadian artists and may be purchased through the on-site gallery.

    Great for that special night!

Celebrated my 70th Birthday here and had a wonderful meal with very good service! We had the Lamb and Pork dishes both of which were tender, well cooked, and just great! Deserts were also excellent. A bit expensive but worth it for that special night!
