In an elegant former mansion just outside downtown Hamilton, Ascots gives you a wonderful excuse for leaving the city. When weather permits, meals are served on the covered terrace, with its stone fountain, or on the front veranda, as well as indoors. You can assemble at the handsome cedar bar before and after meals. The high standards of owners Angelo Armano and Edmund Smith -- the chef and manager, respectively -- result in creative and seasonal menu offerings that incorporate fresh ingredients from local farmers and fishermen. You might find grilled grouper on panfried potatoes with spinach-and-crab rolls, or pan-seared lamb chops with vegetable risotto. An extensive wine list is available to complement your meal.

I've been to ths restaurant 2 times recently because it's next to my place. The setting is impressive, beautiful garden, big and sophisticated house and decoration, good wine list. But the magic disappear like cinderella as soon as you receive the starters, the soup tastes like coming from cans, and the fish is overcooked with too much oil and salt, impossible to finish it. This doesn't match the beauty of this place and the price is ridiculous for that kind of food, I prefer'La Trattoria' where they have good foods by far.

I always include at least one meal at Ascots during any visit to Bermuda. It is a wonderful restaurant with consistently good quality meals. The service is top notch.
