By Bus in Bermuda

By Bus

Buses on New Providence Island and Grand Bahama are called jitneys, and are actually vans. Route numbers are clearly marked, and there's usually service from early morning until dusk. Exact change (usually $1 around town; more for long-distance travel) is required, and although there are established stops, you can sometimes hail a jitney. Let the driver know where you would like to get off. There's no bus service on most of the Out Islands.
