A sculptor named Foots dreamed since childhood of creating his own version of Plato's lost city of Atlantis. Now 51 years old, he is seeing his dream fulfilled as he creates huge sculptures of concrete and sinks them in 45 feet of water off the north shore of Cayman Brac. The result is an astounding dive site and artificial reef with more than 100 sculptures covering several acres. The story starts at the Archway of Atlantis (each of the two bases weighs 21,000 pounds). The Elders' Way, lined with 5-foot temple columns, leads to the Inner Circle of Light, where there is a sundial large enough to sit in. Each Elder is modeled after an actual person who has contributed to the Cayman Islands. Foots creates a beautiful story with his creation and is doing this almost entirely on his own; he's made an incredible donation to the divers of the Brac. Foots plans to add a new phase every six months so that the story will go on for a long time before the project is finished.
