Lodge Kura Hulanda & Beach Club Review

On the island's remote western tip, this sprawling resort with tranquil gardens will make you feel far removed from the daily grind. Rooms in two-story villas offer plush comforts, including grand porches (many overlooking the ocean), large televisions, and luxurious bathrooms. The turndown service is a treat before you cuddle up under 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and comforters. You can explore the nearby caves or hike the trails on the 350-acre property; an activity desk helps coordinate trips anywhere on the island. For a glimpse of underwater magnificence, take a short boat ride to the renowned Mushroom Forest and Watamula dive sites. Or simply get cozy beneath the thatched rotunda of the outdoor lounge, where you'll catch the soothing sounds of a live guitarist some evenings. A free shuttle makes the 45-minute drive to and from town, where you can enjoy all the facilities of the Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa & Casino. An all-inclusive option is available.

Lodge Kura Hulanda & Beach Club Review

Great experience. If you are going to this resort you should know you are not near night life or shops or a bunch of resturaunts. You are getting away from most things. I recomend renting a car and going to several of the beaches on this side of the island. Snorkling or scuba diving is also highly recomended.

Lodge Kura Hulanda & Beach Club Review

I just returned from a week at this property and feel compelled to take the time to comment on it as I have traveled over much of the world and the extraordinarily high level of caring service at this property really makes it stand out! There isn't any question or problem they don't pleasantly, quickly and eagerly solve - even the dumb ones you've caused yourself! The property is lovely - we stayed in a two double bed ocean front suite which was spacious and had everything you could need (except filters for the coffee machine which apparently no one else had ever requested but they got us a box anyway!). Although the reefs for snorkeling were damaged by a storm a year and a half ago you can still see a good selection of fish and some eels right off the beach of the property. Everything we ate at the various restaurants on the property was very good. It's a very pleasantly quiet resort and about 45 minutes from town. We took the free shuttle and spent one day in town. That was fun and interesting but it was enough - you can't snorkel in Willemstad! If you want a palapa on the beach you need to claim it before 8:30 in the morning but it's much easier to find shade by the pool. Be sure to take water shoes or sandals you can wear on rocks for getting to the water. The managers - especially the wonderful Herbert - and staff here are all genuinely nice and want to ensure that you have a good time and you will! Be sure to walk the trail in front of the suites and above the ocean - it's lovely.
