Fodor's Review:
Rivals say "over the top" isn't superlative enough to describe this exquisite, all-suites boutique hotel, the first in the D.R. to join the lofty Small Luxury Hotels of the World. White stucco buildings have columns and wrought-iron balustrades. Suites are outfitted with the finest Frette linens. The lobby feels more like a lounge, with a stellar bar; Lucia's, the designer gourmet room, is now worthy of this boutique hotel. Upscale spa devotees will savor the Baqua Spa, with its Vichy showers, body wraps, inventory of massages and facials, and refreshing juices. The rooftop sundeck is close to heaven -- an infinity pool and four warm Jacuzzis provide several agreeable alternatives to the golden beach.
