La Toubana Hôtel & Spa Review

Few hotels on Guadeloupe command such a panoramic view of the sea—spanning four islands, no less. The cliff-side suite offers the most dramatic vistas; the two newer two-bedroom suites have ocean views and private pools. All bungalows have kitchenettes, furnished balconies, and high-end bedding with colorful accents. Ever since Nicolas Sarkozy slept here, demand for larger, more luxurious accommodations has been so strong that 12 new glorious, two-story suites, built into the cliffs, were added in late 2012. Swimmers in the infinity pool feel that they can touch the surf, hundreds of feet below. You can also bathe in the small cove, dramatically lighted by night. The pier, chaises, and beach restaurant all help draw sophisticated yachties and French residents, who make it wildly popular on weekends. All that plus a luxe eco-spa with a sauna and fitness room makes this one of the island's in places.
