On the outskirts of Fort-de-France, the classy Casino Batelière Plaza is built in a striking nouveau-plantation house style. It has both slot machines and table games. Slots open at 10 AM, but table games don't start until after 7:30 PM. You'll have to fork over a EUR 10 admission (includes a drink), bring along your passport (18 is the legal gambling age), and be properly attired (jacket and tie for men, dresses for women for table games; dressy casual for slots). There's usually some kind of entertainment on weekends. It's open on Sunday nights, along with its restaurant with live music, when most other places are closed tight.
