If you'd like to use courts at a property where you aren't a guest, call in advance for information. Hotel guests usually get first priority, and you're likely to have to pay a fee. Courts at the following hotels are open to nonguests: Caribe Hilton, Condado Plaza, El San Juan Hotel, and San Juan Marriott in San Juan, Copamarina Beach Resort in Guánica, Hilton Ponce, Westin Río Mar Beach Resort and El Conquistador in eastern Puerto Rico. Of these the El Conquistador has some of the best facilities in the Caribbean. The four lighted courts of the Isla Verde Tennis Club (Calles Ema and Delta Rodriguez, Isla Verde, San Juan. 787/727-6490) are open for nonmember use at $4 per hour, daily from 8 AM to 10 PM. The Parque Central de San Juan (Calle Cerra, exit on Rte. 2, Santurce, San Juan. 787/722-1646) has 17 lighted courts. Fees are $3 per hour from 8 AM to 6 PM and $4 per hour from 6 PM to 10 PM.
