Parador La Hacienda Juanita

Fodor's Review:

Part of a coffee plantation dating from the 1800s, the hotel exudes the slower pace of days gone by. Rooms are in four wooden buildings, some with four-poster beds and antiques from the coffee industry's heyday. The accommodations are rustic -- most have classic wooden shutters instead of glass windows. La Casona de Juanita ($$-$$$) serves up criollo cuisine, including sancocho, a hearty soup made with meat and root vegetables. Meals are served on a sweeping balcony where you can reach up and pull fruit off the trees.
