Hovering over two gorgeous beaches, the über-hip W Retreat & Spa is the island's hot spot for urbane fashionistas. W's trademark sexy sophistication is reflected in white, taupe, and chocolate color schemes enhanced by natural woods and playful rainbow accents. Private screened cabañas with flat-screen interactive TVs front mammoth guest rooms featuring retro-style bathtubs floating in their midst. Pampered luxury is a watchword, courtesy of Whatever/Whenever service and the holistic 6,000-square-foot spa. Every now and then, however, the staff lapses into aloof service mode. Light electronic music mixes with the sound of rolling ocean waves, consistently reminding you that you're on vacation.
