Carl Gustaf Review

This sophisticated hotel right in Gustavia is the last word in luxury, and it's within walking distance of everything in town if you don't mind climbing the hill. All of the apartment-suites were redecorated in 2012 in a minimalist-modern style: white with accents in a different calming tone for each unit. Find every modern convenience: iPod clock-radios, multiple flat-screen TVs, complete mini-kitchens (except the smallest "spa suite"), and espresso machines. One- and two-bedroom suites with private decks and tiled plunge pools spill down a hill overlooking quaint Gustavia Harbor. If you need even more space, there are multibedroom villas and suites with up to seven superluxurious bedrooms. The Victoria restaurant, with glamorous, Euro-modern decor and thrilling views, is known for its classic French cuisine and is a spectacular venue for sunset cocktails (the Planter's Punch is de rigeur) and dinner over the twinkle of the harbor lights. A Carita spa features a hammam, jacuzzi, spa showers, and resistance pool.
