Bonito Review

Decorated like a chic beach house, Bonito features big, white, canvas couches for lounging in the center, tables around the sides, an open kitchen, and three bar areas—all located on a hill above Gustavia Harbor. The young Venezuelan owners go to great lengths to see that guests are having as much fun as they are. The specialty is ceviche with eight different varieties, in combos that are prettily arrayed on poured-glass platters for culinary experimentation. Try octopus and shrimp, or wahoo garnished with sweet potatoes and popcorn. Traditionalists might like the fricassee of escargots, or foie gras served with mango, soy, and preserved lemon. Carnivores will love the rack of lamb. French pastry classics are on the dessert menu.
