Discovery at Marigot Bay Review

Five miles (8 km) south of Castries, this chic, ecofriendly villa resort climbs the hillside of what author James Michener called "the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean." Each unit is exquisitely decorated with dark Balinese furniture accented by comfy earth-tone cushions, a four-poster bed with pillow-top mattress, and dark hardwood flooring. Oversize bathrooms have walk-in "drench" showers and double basins set in slate vanities. Each suite has a full kitchen equipped with modern Euro-designer appliances, a spacious living room with a sofa bed and dining area, a balcony or deck, and a washer and dryer; half the suites have private plunge pools. There's fine dining at Boudreau and casual meals at the Hurricane Hole Bar. There's also a full-service spa, gym, yoga pavilion, and peaceful Zen garden with a treehouse for quiet interludes or a private dinner. Megayachts tie up at the resort's dock, and a solar-powered ferry transports guests across the bay to the nearby beach, bars, and restaurants.

    Loved It

Very nice place to stay. The service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant selection in Marigot Bay is somewhat weak and driving around the island is not exactly easy, so we ate in the room a bunch. The pool is very nice and taking water taxis was fun. The concierge could have been a bit more helpful, but they're trying. We would go back. We have two kids, 2 and 8, they had a lot of fun.
