Young Island Resort Review

One of St. Vincent's two true resorts is actually 200 yards offshore (a three-minute ride from Villa Beach by hotel launch) on its own 35-acre island; its 29 airy cottages dot the hillside. Cottage rooms and suites are decorated in ecru, ocher, and green, with bamboo and rattan furniture. Walls of stone and glass have louvered windows surrounding the sitting areas. Each cottage has a terrace, and bathrooms have garden showers. All cottages have water views despite being hidden in lush tropical vegetation. Two beachfront cottage suites and three on the hillside have separate sitting rooms and private plunge pools; the top-of-the-hill Duvernette Suite has its own infinity pool and a furnished sundeck. Swim up to the floating Coconut Bar, 30 feet offshore, for a refreshing thirst-quencher. Dine either on the terrace or in a private thatch-roof gazebo. Sail-away packages include two nights touring the Grenadines on a 44-foot crewed sailing yacht.
