Taxi Travel
Taxis are not metered. Settle on the price—and the currency—before entering the taxi. Taxis are always available at the airport in St. Vincent; the fare from the airport to Kingstown or Villa is $12 (EC$30). In Bequia, the taxis—usually pickup trucks, with their beds fitted with seats accommodating four to six people under an awning—will take you to Port Elizabeth, to the various hotels, or on a day of sightseeing. On Canouan, resorts generally provide airport transfers, although taxis are available. On Mustique, transfers are usually provided, but taxis are available. On Union Island, it's a short walk or jitney ride from the airport to the dock (a two-minute trip) to meet the launch from Palm Island or Petit St. Vincent; taxis are also available for the brief ride into Clifton, the main town.
