Carinthia: Places to Explore

Strassburg

The seat of the Gurk bishopric until 1787, Strassburg is dominated by the episcopal palace, which houses small museums covering the history of the valley and of the diocese. The Gothic parish church, one of the most beautiful in Carinthia, has stained-glass windows dating from 1340. Also of note is the Heilig-Geist-Spital Church, constructed in the 13th century.
