Franciscan Church

Franciscan Church Review

Close to the center of town, the Franciscan Church on Muchargasse was originally part of a Carmelite cloister, founded in 1349 by the Countess Euphemia of Görz. The church was taken over by the Franciscans in 1785 and restored in 1947-48. A Gothic pietà from about 1400 adorns the left side altar at the back; the wall frescoes are from the 15th century.
