Mürzzuschlag
The resort town of Mürzzuschlag is popular with the Viennese for both winter and summer sports. From Bruck an der Mur, head northeast on S6, past the industrial town of Kapfenberg, and take the exit marked for the resort. It is regarded as the birthplace of Austrian skiing and, in a sense, of the Winter Olympics, since the first Nordic Games were held here in 1904, but the main focus of ski activity has long since moved west to the Tirol.
