Presshaus Review
This charming restaurant is in Illmitz, 11 km (7 mi) south of Podersdorf. At first glance it seems like a traditional country restaurant, with pickled pine walls and cheerful blue curtains, but the Presshaus offers some of the most innovative Austrian cuisine in the area—seasonal Bärlauch (wild wood garlic) cream soup, asparagus risotto, or the house specialty, spicy ricotta strudel drizzled with browned butter. Main courses include plenty of fish choices in season, and flavorful grilled steak from local Apetloner cattle. The large selection of European and regional wines includes its own label.
