Alpenhotel Gösing Review

A breathtaking Alpine road leads to this gabled early-20th-century hotel, which looks like it was the setting for Alfred Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes. There is nothing up here except the hotel, a story-book train station, the woods with hiking trails, and gorgeous scenery. The spacious, gemütlich lobby with its cozy groupings of chintz-covered chairs and sofas is the perfect place to relax with a book and a cup of tea. The charming rooms have cheery floral curtains and duvets in pastel shades. Ask for one with a panoramic balcony facing Ötscher mountain. Half-pension is optional, but the remote location doesn't give you much choice.
