Achensee
The Achen Valley has fine skiing in winter, but the Achensee in summer, with water sports and excellent fishing, is the main attraction. The great mountains of the Karwendel and Rofan ranges rise from its blue-green waters, and, at 10 km (6 mi) in length, the lake is Tirol's largest and most beautiful. The lake steamer connects the villages strung along its length.
