Salzburg Feature

As most Salzburgers know, one of the best and most pleasurable ways of getting around the city and the surrounding countryside is by bicycle. Bikes can be rented, and local bookstores have maps of the extensive network of cycle paths. The most delightful ride in Salzburg? The Hellbrunner Allee from Freisaal to Hellbrunn Palace is a pleasurable run, taking you past Frohnburg Palace and a number of elegant mansions on either side of the tree-lined avenue. The more adventurous can go farther afield, taking the Salzach cycle path north to the village of Oberndorf, or south to Golling and Hallein.
