Mariä Himmelfahrt

Mariä Himmelfahrt Review

A fire in 1793 laid waste to much of the town, but the 15th-century parish church of Mariä Himmelfahrt, built on earlier foundations, largely survived. The south nave dates from 1300, the middle nave from 1439, the chapel from 1460. The Madonna on the triumphal arch goes back to the Danube school of about 1520; the Baroque touches date from 1736; and to complete the picture, the Rococo organ was installed in 1777.
