Landhaus Bacher

Landhaus Bacher Review

This is one of Austria's best restaurants, elegant but entirely lacking in pretension. Lisl Wagner-Bacher, one of the top female chefs in the country, bases the dishes served here on the seasons. In fall look for pumpkin-cream soup and pheasant breast with chestnut ravioli; in winter, scallops with sautéed chicory and pike perch with crispy cabbage lasagna; in spring, Bärlauch (wild garlic) spaghettini and tender veal fillet with prosciutto and fresh asparagus; in summer, local grilled trout or corn-fed chicken with citrus-ginger noodles. You can dine in the garden in summer. The 10-room guesthouse has exquisite bedrooms.
