Burg Oberranna Review
About 7 km (4½ mi) beyond the village of Mühldorf, directly west of Spitz, stands this out-of-the-way, well-preserved castle-hotel, surrounded by a double wall and dry moat. The original structure dates from the early 12th century, and the St. George chapel, with frescoes and Romanesque interior, possibly even earlier. Make a point of seeing this fascinating site before you leave. Some of the charming antiques-filled suites include a kitchenette and sitting room. This is a great base for hiking and also perfect for those who just want peace and quiet.
