A great way to see Carnuntum and the towns along the Danube is by bicycle. Bike routes are well marked, extensive, and in excellent condition. There are many shops in Vienna that rent bikes, and some hotels have bikes for use by their guests, so be sure to ask at your hotel. For the most part, you can take a bike free of charge on the local and regional trains, which makes it easy to explore a larger area.
