Rotes Haus Review
In the center of town on the large "Marktplatz" (market place) sits the historic Red House. The "red" in the name of this 1639 gabled wood building refers to bull's blood, originally used as pigment for the facade, which is still basically red, with decorative panels. You may have to wait for a while in the summer before you can sit down at a table under huge umbrellas on the square. Traditional cuisine—lamb, game, and fish are on the menu—is served here in a charming series of small rooms. In season try the mushrooms or any of the other dishes made of regional produce.
