Only one carrier, VLM, serves Antwerp's Deurne Airport. It's generally easier to fly into Brussels's Zaventem airport. Zaventem serves many airlines and has convenient transportation connections to Antwerp.

Airports

Deurne Airport (ANR), 5 1/2 km (3 mi) southeast of Antwerp's city center, has several flights a day to London and Manchester. The capital's Zaventem airport (BRU) is linked with Antwerp by frequent bus and train service.

Airport Transfers

The cheapest way to get from Deurne Airport to Antwerp's city center is to take city bus 16, which drops you off near Centraal Station -- the fare is EUR 1. It runs roughly every half an hour 5:30 AM-11 PM on weekdays and hourly on weekends. A taxi between the airport and city center costs approximately EUR 15.

From Zaventem airport, the easiest way to reach Antwerp is via the Airport City Express train. Buy the EUR 6 ticket at the train station connected to Zaventem. The train runs every 15 minutes 5:30 AM-11 PM from the airport to Brussels Nord station and then connects to Antwerp's Centraal Station, leaving every 20 minutes during the week and every half an hour on weekends. The trip takes an hour. Another option is the SN Brussels Airlines Expressbus, which leaves Zaventem at 5:30 AM, then goes to and from De Keyserlei near Centraal Station every hour 7 AM-10 PM. Tickets cost EUR 8 and can be bought on the bus. The ride takes about 40 minutes.
