The hotel that preceded the Bedford at this site was frequented, according to legend, by Luftwaffe and RAF pilots in Brussels for romantic trysts during and after World War II. The current place is family run and welcoming, with marble pillars in its wide lobby, thick pink carpeting in corridors, and rooms done in cream, green, or pink, with cherrywood furniture. Bathrooms are small but sparkling in cream marble; 10 rooms have only showers. The location may be a little shabby, but the hotel is within easy reach of the Grand'Place.
