If you piggyback on Le Shuttle through the Channel Tunnel, the distance is 213 km (128 mi) from Calais to Brussels; the route from Calais via Oostende is the fastest, even though on the Belgian side the highway stops a few kilometers short of the border. If you take the ferry to Oostende, the distance is 115 km (69 mi) to Brussels on the six-lane E40.
