Nacionalni Park Mljeta (Mljet National Park)

Nacionalni Park Mljeta (Mljet National Park) Review

Within the densely forested park lie two interconnected saltwater lakes, Malo Jezero (Little Lake) and Veliko Jezero (Big Lake), ideal for swimming from spring to autumn. Boats run to the charming 12th-century Benedictine monastery on Otocic Svete Marije (St. Mary's Islet), in the middle of Veliko Jezero, and a series of footpaths and bike paths traverse the park. Mountain bikes and kayaks are available for hire at Mali Most, the bridge between the two lakes, and at Hotel Odisej in Pomena. A local bus runs from the port of Sobra to the national park at the west end of the island. If you arrive on Mljet through Polace, you are within walking distance of the park. Upon arrival, pay the entrance fee at one of several wooden kiosks (if you stay overnight, this fee is included in the price of your accommodation).
