The large, modern building is surrounded by vineyards on the approach to Vrbnik, and you come here as much for the wine as the food. Wines produced around Vrbnik are considered some of the best in Croatia. You can try Vrbnicka zlahtina here. Biser mora (sea pearl) is a light, semi-sparkling white, perfect for summer drinking. Nigra (a brand of syrah) is a full-bodied red wine ideal for easy drinking, while porin is dry and sparkling. All are well priced here, cheaper than in shops. The restaurant offers both wine and rakija tasting, including brandy made from figs, which is very sweet. There's a shop and grill restaurant outside for visitors, which is an excellent choice at night, when it is lighted by flaming torches. Call ahead to arrange a tour and a gastronomic accompaniment to your boozing.
