Zadar and Northern Dalmatia Restaurants

Konobe Kod Sipe Review

There are plenty of tourist places harborside in Sali, but if you want to have a hearty meal well above the harborside fray, you'll have to climb some steps. Start at the steps between the Suvenirica Porat store and the Gelateri Contes café, near the tip of the harbor, and walk up more than 100 of them, passing two pretty little churches on your left along the way. After the second church, follow the "Konoba" signs to this popular restaurant that serves everything from grilled calamari and pork chops to cuttlefish spaghetti and "octopus under a baking lid." The rustic decor is pleasingly punctuated by a barrel theme, with both the chairs and the tables on barrels, and the usual fishnets hanging from the ceiling's wooden beams. The outdoor terrace is shaded by grapevines (and, yes, some fishnet) and has an enticing open hearth. All this, in a villagelike atmosphere where tourists rarely tread.
