Veliki Tabor
Veliki Tabor Review
On a lofty hilltop stands the massive fortress of Veliki Tabor. The main pentagonal core of the building dates back to the 12th century, whereas the side towers were added in the 15th century as protection against the Turks. The colonnaded galleries of the interior cast sublime shadows in moonlight. To reach it, you really need to rent a car, and make it part of a half-day tour of rural Zagorje.
