Céleste

Céleste Review

Prague's most scenic meal, Céleste occupies the top floor of Frank Gehry's iconic Dancing House along the Vltava River. Run by the team behind the late, great Angel restaurant, the food and service at Céleste live up to the quality of the Castle views, the best in the city. The room is decorated conservatively, but with modern flourishes, including an eye-popping chandelier. The food operates on much the same principle: A pork terrine or an asparagus soup will appear basic, but it'll be brought to life by a dash of drama (in the case of the soup, white nettles and foie gras). The kitchen handles seafood as well as meat, and the monkfish served with artichokes is exquisite. Of course, diners pay a premium for the view, and the wine list, though extensive, suffers from extreme mark-up. Still, for a special occasion, it's an ideal meal.
