Taxis

The shiny computer-metered Mercedes and Volvo cabs are not cheap. The base charge is DKr 23, plus DKr 10 per kilometer (higher after 4 PM). A cab is available when it displays the sign fri (free); one can be hailed or picked up in front of the main train station or at taxi stands, or by calling the numbers below. Outside the city center, always call for a cab, as your attempts to hail one will be in vain. Try Kobenhavns Taxa or Amager Øbro Taxi. A 40% surcharge applies if you order a cab at night or on the weekend.
