Ruths Hotel Review

This is definitely the grande dame of Old Skagen, built by Emma and Hans Christian Ruth before World War I. Since then it's been completely rebuilt with modern facilities, and its main restaurant, Ruth's Gourmet, has as its chef Michel Michaud, known for heading up the kitchens at such renowned venues as Kong Hans in Copenhagen. (The only drawback is that you have to call ahead at least a month in advance for a reservation during high season.) There's also a brasserie that serves French food prepared with local ingredients by any of Chef Michaud's 17 cooks. Rooms are typically lavish, in an understated way, and all have balconies or terraces and Swedish-made DUX beds; some have hot tubs. The Wellness Centre provides regular spa and beauty treatments, as well as some forms of laser cosmetic surgery.
