Mortens Kro

Mortens Kro Review

The chef-owner of Mortens Kro, Morten Nielsen, is a celebrity in these parts, and the food here is a delight, both visually and gastronomically. The menu changes monthly, but a starter might be steamed white asparagus with leeks in a mousseline sauce, with herbs and freshly shelled shrimp. A main course could be free-range veal tenderloin from North Jutland, marinated in basil and served with slow-baked small tomatoes and the ubiquitous new potatoes. Every inch of the restaurant is thoughtfully designed, even the washrooms—they're equipped with waterfalls and nature sound effects emanating from invisible speakers. Jackets aren't required, but a "business casual" look is a good way to go.
