Cranleigh Review

On a quiet hilltop above the city center, this Victorian guesthouse has wonderful views of the Avon Valley. Large breakfasts—pancakes with maple syrup, smoked haddock, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, fresh fruit salad, and vegetarian options—are served in the dining room, which overlooks the garden. Rooms are richly decorated, and three have four-poster beds. There's a hot tub, costing £20 per person for two hours. The Cranleigh is a 30-minute walk from the center, but you can take one of the frequent buses that stop nearby.
