One of the best bargains in Bloomsbury, this family-run hotel has singles as low as £32 and doubles as low as £45. Rooms tend to be small and look dated, but they're definitely good value. Some rooms have a private shower but no toilet (you share one down the hall); others have both. All rooms have a TV, all guests have access to free Wi-Fi, and tea/coffeemakers are available on request. It's not fancy, but it certainly is cheap.

A gem in a convenient location

We sampled two ensuite rooms in February due to our split city itinerary. Both were full ensuite. Everything in both rooms seemed new and shiny. Nothing threadbare and shabby to be seen. Coffee/tea making in the rooms. 19" lcd tvs. Indications of upgrading happening in the hallways.
The location is up and coming. The 'ladies' are gone from Euston street. The citylink train to Gatwick runs from St Pancras now, as does the Eurostar. Five tube lines merge in Kings Cross, including the Picadilly line to Heathrow. The number 10 bus runs down the length of Oxford Street, around Hyde Park to Knightsbridge.

A must in London
Posted by Alan from Portugal on 5/10/06
Hi, my name is Alan and i go to London many times per year because of my job. After meny attempts to find out a nice, clean and cheap Hotel with the tipical english breakfast, my search is over thank's to Alhambra Hotel. I booked a single room with all the facilities inside and i get a double bed :-)). The rooms were clean everyday, the breakfeast was excellent and the staff always ready to help with a smile- i like that. Imust say that the location is very nice because is very close to Kings Cross station and The British Library. From Kings Cross i could get to everywhere in London in a few minutes and that was very handy. I'll be in London shortlly again and i will definetelly go to Alhambra Hotel again. Thank you Alhambra Hotel.

beware the massive veggie propaganda of the nearby Indian restourant :)

The rooms were small (like everywhere else) but clean and neat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty indeed and they creatively solved my veggie needs :) The location is great. In this area there are services for locals too not just for turists, so there are inexpensive restourants and take aways. You can find anything you forgot to pack within walking distance. Also there is a small park nearby. Although King's Cross is just around the corner, this sidestreet is quiet. The price I think is OK.
