Originally designed by architect Sir Edwin Lutyens for the Young Women's Christian Association in the early 1930s, today this proud, neo-Georgian building is an upscale hotel aimed at corporate travelers during the week and leisure travelers on the weekend, when rates drop considerably. Throughout the reception area and lounge, much of the original design has been retained though it's furnished mostly with reproductions. Rooms are fairly spacious and have a classic look to them, but some could use a bit of a renovation nowadays.
