It's all non-stop Cockney gor blimey! banter and all-day English breakfasts at this tiny 1900 Italian family-run chrome-and-Vitrolite landmark café near the East End's great Brick Lane and Columbia Road street markets. With colorful stained glass, Formica tables, Art Deco marquetry, and signed pics of East Enders TV soap stars, it's the rowdy hole-in-the-wall for the greasy "fry-ups" that Londoners adore: eggs, bacon, toast, baked beans, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, tea, and "bubble 'n' squeak" (cabbage and mash). Matriarch "Mama" Maria also rustles up "Toscana" spaghetti, plus steamed sponge or bread pudding. Your arteries most certainly will clog up, but at least the wallet is spared. Everything's less than £8.50, but remember this is the East End, and hence it's "Cash only, Maate!'"
