Tayyabs

Tayyabs Review

Unloved City bankers and doctors from the nearby Royal London Hospital swamp this neon-lit, high-turnover Pakistani curry specialist (set in the eastern part of Whitechapel part of The City). Expect queues after dark, and bear in mind it's BYO, jam-packed, noisy, and often maddeningly chaotic. Nonetheless, prices are keen and you can OD and gorge handsomely for under £20 on a mixed char-grill extravaganza, which might include fiery Tandoori chicken and fish tikka. Other best bets include Karachi okra, slow-cooked "dry meat," minced meat seekh kebabs, Karahi prawns, hot steaming naan breads, and Tayyab's famous spicy char-grilled Karahi lamb chops (cooked to a secret receipe).
