London Nightlife

Southbank Centre

Southbank Centre Review

The Royal Festival Hall is one of London's best spaces for large-scale choral and orchestral works and is home to the Philharmonia and London Philharmonic orchestras. Other venues in the Southbank Centre host smaller-scale music performances: The Queen Elizabeth Hall is a popular venue for chamber orchestras and top-tier soloists, and the intimate Purcell Room is known for chamber music and solo recitals. Southbank also hosts everything from the London International Mime festival to large scale dance performances, including a diverse and exciting season of international and British-based contemporary dance companies. Also part of the complex is the Hayward Gallery (10-6 daily), a landmark Brutalist-style 1960s building and one of London's major venues for contemporary art exhibitions.
