Bar Boulud Review
US-based star French superchef Daniel Boulud combines the best of French high-end brasserie fare with a dash of superior Yankee gourmet burgers and fries, at this popular street-level all-day hang-out in the luxe Mandarin Oriental hotel. Lilliputian-sized platters of the most delicate Gilles Verot charcuterie, heartier coq au vin, or positively chunky truffled Boudin blanc sausages with Lyonnaise mashed potatoes compete with palm-sized Yankee, Frenchie, Piggie, or signature "BB'"foie-gras beef burgers and fries in sesame seed or black onion seed buns. The knock-out grazing menu has something for everyone, and pro but informal wait staff make for a convivial vibe in this handy spot opposite Harvey Nichols department store. Note the £23 3-course lunch or 5-7pm prix-fixe deals.
