London Restaurants

Paramount

Paramount Review

Awesome panoramas of the London skyline are the big draw at this 32nd-floor restaurant at the Centre Point tower near Tottenham Court Rd. Insist on dining by the window—preferably at dusk—and look east as the lights come on at the iconic London Eye wheel, Tower Bridge, the pointy "Gherkin" office block, along the banks of the Thames, and the Manhatten-like cluster of towers at Canary Wharf. Despite hosting some of the best views in London, Paramount features decidedly pricey food that should be more polished and refined. Our advice? Chin up, have a cocktail, admire designer Tom Dixon's seductive décor, ogle London from above, and stick to the less fiddly dishes on the menu, like venison with red cabbage, halibut and squid, or plaice and new potatoes.
