The Henry Root

The Henry Root Review

Named after the amusing, upper-class spoof letter writer, Henry Root, you'll find there's nothing fake about this winsome neighborhood joint-cum-wine-bar off the Fulham Road, which serves up a quirky menu in a friendly non-stop party salon. Well-spoken and casually attired local Chelsea denizens think nothing about using their fingers to pick their way through a whole globe artichoke with Dijon vinaigrette, and they rave about the hearty jellied ham hock or cured meat and Piccalilli charcuterie platters. Besides small plates like Cornish mussels and bacon, and deep salad bowls, there's satisfying mains like lemon chicken, roast pheasant, or smoked haddock with poached egg and Champagne sauce.
