Hotel du Vin & Bistro Review
A Victorian hospital in the city center got a makeover from a très hip chain, but retains such original details as the ironwork double stairway and marble columns. Beyond the imposing redbrick exterior is an inner courtyard with a fountain and a garden and an inviting billiard room. Bedrooms are sleek and contemporary, with huge, fluffy towels and white linens. The bistro is redolent of fin-de-siècle Paris, and in the Bubble Lounge, which has a walk-in cigar humidor, you can drown in more than 50 varieties of Champagne.
