Laing Art Gallery Review
One of the Northeast's finest art museums merits at least an hour's visit for its selection of British art. Some of the most extraordinary paintings are those by 19th-century local artist John Martin, who produced dramatic biblical landscapes. The Pre-Raphaelites are on show, too, as are sculptures by Henry Moore.
